Keep track of the fish you see while scuba diving or snorkeling. Submit those to an online database. This is a worldwide program for:
Pacific Coast
Tropical Eastern Pacific
Tropical Western Atlantic
Hawaii
NE US and Canada

Required gear:

Dive slate, pencil
Computer access for submitting data (can be done with paper form, if needed, but there is a cost to purchase forms)
Fish ID books are helpful

How to join or get started:

Join REEF with a free membership by going to www.reef.org. You can start anytime, with or without a training class, as long as you can POSITIVELY identify the fish you see. When in doubt, leave it out.
